Sacramento, CA — Fire fighters and emergency medical responders will now have to report their response times to the State Fire Marshall.
Assembly Bill 566 passed the assembly floor 43-18 on a bipartisan vote, which also requires the State Fire Marshal to issue reports that compare jurisdictions against each other.
Assemblyman Rudy Bermudez says by having access to information on firefighter response times, Californians will have a report card that tells them how their community is doing when it comes to fire protection.
He also said the community needs to know if they can count on firefighters and paramedics being there when they need them.
