The CHP reports that after the collision, one of the vehicles was on fire, and one occupant was pinned inside the vehicle. For those heading to the Mother Lode, the highway has been shut down in both directions, with officers turning motorists around, so travelers will want to find an alternative route. The CHP has not released an estimated reopening time for the highway.
Update at 4:15 p.m.: The CHP reports that J-59 has been cleared and traffic is moving once again after a rollover crash south of Old Don Pedro Road near Lake Don Pedro, where the vehicle landed on its roof, blocking the roadway. Further details on this collision can be viewed below.
Update at 2:45 p.m.: A rollover crash on J-59 near Old Don Pedro Road and Lake Don Pedro, where the vehicle landed on its roof, is slowing traffic. That section of the roadway was closed for about half an hour while crews worked to free the occupants inside. Currently, officers are directing one-way traffic as a tow crew works to remove the wreckage. The CHP reports minor injuries in this collision. There is no estimated time as to when that span of J-59 will reopen.
Update at 12:46 p.m.: First responders are working on two traffic hazards in the Twain Harte area of Tuolumne County. First responders are helping to remove a truck stuck in the snow in the eastbound lanes of Highway 108 at Twain Harte Drive. Crews are also clearing a tree that is blocking Towhee Lane and Tanager Drive.Â
Update at 11:49 p.m.: Caltrans District 10 reports a closure along Highway 4 in the Arnold area of Calaveras County.
A section of the highway at Lilac Drive is closed due to heavy snow. There is no estimated time of opening.Â

Below updates written by BJ Hansen at 8 am: The earlier traffic incidents mentioned have been cleared. However, there are new incidents to report. On Ferretti Road near Flint Road, in the Groveland area, a vehicle has gone off the road and hit a power pole. No injuries have been reported.
There is also a report of a power line down on North Tuolumne Road near King Arthur’s Court. Officials are investigating.
Original story posted at 6:43 am: Sonora, CA — Emergency officials are responding to various incidents as a storm system passes through the region.
As of 6:40 am, a big rig truck is stuck on Highway 120/New Priest Grade without chains.
Two vehicles are stuck in the snow on Lyons Bald Mountain Road, near Apple Valley Drive.
A tree has fallen on Highway 4 near Lakemont Drive in Arnold, blocking one traffic lane. Caltrans has been notified of the situation.
There are also crashes reported on Highway 4 at South Inland Drive and Highway at Howard Court.
