Investigation Continues Into Unidentified Human Remains

Sponsored by:

Suspicious until proven otherwise is what the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s department continues to say about the two separate cases of unidentified human remains found Sunday.

The first was found at Stagecoach Road in Columbia State Park by visitors to the park. It´s been learned that prescription medication was found near the body, and the name matches that of a man reported missing in September. An autopsy was set for yesterday in the case.

And it´s slow going in the second case in the Groveland area. Not even the sex of the body has been determined so far.In that case, evidence is believed to have been damaged by wild animals. Those remains are estimated to have been at the site near Lumsden and Ferretti Roads for a few days, before being found Sunday.
