Modesto Man Shot By Officers

A man confronting Modesto Police officers with a knife this morning was shot and killed.
Modesto police spokesman Doug Ridenour says officers were called to West Roseburg Ave just before 1 a.m.
Details are still sketchy…. but police say 22 year old Sammy Raymond Galvan had been in a fight with his girlfriend and that they had both been drinking.
First officers at the scene called for emergency back up, a minute later they reported shots fired. Galvan was taken to an area hospital where he died a short time later.
The shooting is under investigation to determine exactly what happened.
