Sponsored by:

At 2:45 pm Wednesday afternoon, there was a single vehicle accident on southbound 49 south of Carson Hill Road involving a black Plymouth Laser. The car rolled approximately ten times, landing 200 feet down the embankment.

Three teenagers from Tuolumne County escaped with minor injuries after climbing up the hill to the highway. The 18-year-old driver is from Tuolumne City. Both teenage passengers, one female and the other a male, are also Tuolumne County residents.

The driver and female passenger were transported to Tuolumne General Hospital with complaints of back and neck pain. The remaining passenger was still at the scene with minor lacerations to one hand.

The driver claims he had a tire blowout which caused the accident. The accident is still under investigation.
