Two Killed, Infant Seriously Injured in Weekend Crashes
Three serious accidents this weekend happened at the same intersection of Highway 120 and O€™Byrnes Ferry Road – two Saturday and another yesterday. Two people were killed as a result of these crashes.
The CHP says a woman motorcyclist was killed in a crash around 2:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon; details have not been released as of early this morning.
The crash involved a GMC pickup and a modified motorcycle. Reports say the motorcycle had three wheels and the woman was a passenger on the bike. Traffic backed up for miles.
Saturday, 38-year-old Deanna Childers, of Sonora died a half-mile west of the intersection after her car hit another vehicle head on. Witnesses said Childers was trying to pass another car when it collided with a vehicle in the oncoming lane.
Childers´ 1-month-old daughter, Bethany Mills, was taken to the University of California Medical Center in Sacramento for a fractured skull. Her condition was not available Sunday. Childers´ 17-year-old son, Nicholas Fabie, was treated and released at a hospital on Saturday.
