The Resource connection began in 1977. County employees from Calaveras and Amador and the Mountain Sisters Collective addressed the counties’ need for child care and victims of domestic violence. In 1980, the Human Resources Council (HRC), opened its doors with a staff of four. In March 2009, HRC changed its name to “The Resource Connection” with 130 employees — offers a crisis center, early childhood program, food bank, resources and referrals and WIC.
