Forest Town Hall Planned In Sugar Pine
Sugar Pine, CA — Those who live up the Highway 108 corridor will have a chance to hear from Stanislaus National Forest leaders about forestry projects and initiatives.
A town hall meeting is planned for Wednesday, November 13, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sugar Pine (24176 Pine Lake Drive). There will be a general update provided by Forest Service representatives, followed by a question and answer session.
Some of the main topics will be the ongoing SERAL project and the Wildfire Crisis Strategy Landscape.
Summit and Mi-Wok District Ranger, Shawn Winstead, says, “We are hoping to engage with our local communities and give them an opportunity to learn more about the forest and the work being done to reduce risk and maintain a healthy forest.”
Similar meetings were recently held in Groveland and Jamestown, and a fourth town hall is being planned for the Calaveras Ranger District at a yet-to-be-determined date and location.
