Scouts Open Up One Of A Kind Hut
Angels Camp, CA — Local Boy Scouts will open the doors this weekend to what is said to be one of the last Scout huts in the nation.
To kick off Scout Week on Sunday, February 4 from 12 to 4 p.m. the hut in Angels Camp will be open to the public.
Located on Depot Road off of Highway 4, the hut is used by the scouts of Angels Camp Pack, Troop and Crew 353, sponsored by the Italian Catholic Federation. The Golden Heritage District also uses the hut for roundtable meetings.
Fellow scouts will be on hand as well as displays.
There are currently 825 scouts in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties. Boy Scouts of America will celebrate its 97th birthday on February 8.
