CDF Hires Back Firefighters To Gear Up For Fire Season
Sonora, CA — More than 40 seasonal firefighters are undergoing routine training after being hired back Wednesday for fire season.
Mike Noonan with CDF-Tuolumne County Fire says eight stations in the Tuolumne Calaveras Unit will open for the season Monday morning.
Noonan says the grass is drying out and they are starting to have escaped debris burns.
CDF is conducting fire hazard reduction inspections to make sure residents are complying with the regulations to clear defensible space around homes and buildings.
Noonan asks residents to follow the rules and regulations on the back of their burning permits, and to be extra careful when burning on windy days.
