Valley Springs, CA—As progress is being made battling the Gann Fire, some of the earlier evacuated residents are being allowed to return home this afternoon, per the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office.
CAL Fire stresses that utility crews are still in the area working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. This work is ongoing, and some people may continue to be without power after returning to their properties.
The fire is still estimated to be 10,374 acres with 26% containment.

The Valley Springs Evacuation Center is available for displaced residents and their domesticated animals. Volunteers with the American Red Cross are on scene at both locations, providing assistance alongside Calaveras County Health and Human Services.
