Levee Draining Complete at Jones Tract

More than six months after a delta island flooded, the state Department of Water Resources says it has finished pumping water from Jones Tract. A levee break in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta flooded the tract in June, ruining 11 thousand acres of crops. Authorities say they likely will never know what caused the levee to fail. Farmers and local reclamation districts will finish work to restore the island.
