Peterson Trial: Defense Resumes Monday
Testimony in the penalty phase of Scott Peterson´s murder trial will resume on Monday.
Peterson´s lawyers say they have about 20 more witnesses to call to the stand.
Testimony is expected to last until Wednesday.
Yesterday, the mother of one of Peterson´s high school friends provided more insights into his life long before he was convicted of murdering his pregnant wife.
“Coni” Fritz told jurors that Peterson was what she called — “a caring, sweet, loving boy” when she knew him nearly two decades ago.
When the defense is done calling its witnesses, jurors will again be sequestered as they consider whether Peterson should be sentenced to death or life in prison without parole.
