Water Main Break in Downtown Sonora
A water main broke just before 7am in downtown Sonora.
The Sonora Police Department reports TUD was first notified about the situation at 6:58am.
Linoberg was closed to traffic from Shepherd Street to Washington Street this morning, as crews from the Tuolumne Utilities District worked to dig up, locate and repair the problem.
Traffic on Stewart Street was slow, moving only one direction at a time, as the repair equipment was blocking the southbound lane.
That means there´s no water, and there will be no traffic on Linoberg until at least noon today while repair crews dig up the broken main and make repairs.
There´s still no official word if any businesses were without water service this morning.
Use caution driving in downtown Sonora today, and use an alternate route if possible.
