Sonora Sidewalk Project Starts Tonight

Another road construction project will cause some congestion for Sonora motorists.
Starting tonight, construction on the Washington Street / Highway 49 sidewalk project gets under way to the north of the downtown Sonora. According to the city, On Grade Contracting will start nighttime work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on the shoulder and sidewalk area.
The sidewalk and road shoulder area along the east side of Washington Street may be closed from Cowan Street to Columbia Way. Motorists can also expect traffic disruption during the daytime hours as well for the next few days.
