State’s Timber Output Cut By Half

A recent study shows that the amount of timber processed in California has fallen by more than half in the last 13 years. University and government researchers say that more than 15,000 sawmill jobs evaporated as well. The researchers say that may be due to increased regulations, less timber harvesting on public land and market conditions.
