Modesto Heroin Sting Yields Dealers, Customers
Modesto Police call it a “reverse sting”.
Two men arrested for heroin sales led to the arrest of a number of very young people for attempting to buy heroin.
On Sunday, Luis Diaz and Servando Mendoza, both 25, were arrested on charges of selling heroin.
Officer say, as they took the pair into custody, their cell phone started to ring.
Police took the calls and people starting asking for heroin to be delivered.
Undercover officers then sold fake black tar heroin to the customers, and upon receiving the money, officers would then place the people under arrest.
An 18-year-old, four 19-year-olds, and a 21-year-old were all among those arrested on charges of attempted possession and attempted sales of heroin.
Police call it a sad situation with such young people trying to get heroin and urge parents to pay close attention to their kids.
