College T’ai Chi Ch’uan Class Promotes Healthy Exercise
If self-improvement is one of your goals this summer, try taking a class in T´ai Chi Ch´uan through Columbia College Community Education.
Instructor Michael Irwin will teach this ancient Chinese practice of slow, dance-like movements used in promoting health, longevity, meditation and balance as well as self-defense. Skills include warm up exercises, walking exercises, standing meditation and breathing techniques.
Classes will be conducted on eight Thursdays from July 15 through September 2, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the Tuolumne Memorial Hall. The registration fee of $28 can be paid to the Columbia College Community Education office. Call 588-5144 for more information.
