Democrats in the state Assembly are unveiling a $6 billion budget solution they say will take the state much of the way to solving its fiscal crisis. Their “April Package” cuts $2.5 billion and borrows $2.2 billion more from the state´s pension fund.
Democrats are now lobbying for Republican support. They say their solution leaves the state´s budget gap at only about $11 billion dollars during the next 15 months.
