Reno-Area Tribe To Monitor Lake

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe has been awarded nearly $70,000 to monitor wetlands on the reservation north of Reno. The tribe has already mapped the wetlands system and set water quality standards for the lower Truckee River, which feeds into Pyramid Lake. The grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will allow the tribe to evaluate the overall health of the wetlands and aid in restoration efforts.
