Commission Says To End Dispute

The state Energy Commission says San Joaquin Valley air and federal officials must settle a dispute over how to cut air pollution. That needs to happen before the commission will support a new power plant. Calpine wants to put up a $550 million plant to supply a third of the valley´s electricity.
