Tuolumne County Officials Take Oath
County officials took the oath of office this afternoon during a 15-minute ceremony in the Supervisors chambers.
Among those were freshman supervisors Jim Peterson and Paolo Maffei. The pair was joined by Sheriff Dick Rogers, District Attorney Don Segerstrom and County Superintendent of Schools Joe Silva, among other county officials, for the brief ceremony.
The oath was administered by Judge Eric DuTemple.
Supervisor€™s chambers were packed with well wishers and supporters for the event.
Both new supervisors were relieved that the wait is now over and they can get to work on the board.
Supervisor Mark Thornton was unanimously voted-in as 2003 board chairman.
Supervisors get back to work at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
