Construction crews lowered rebar framework Friday that will be used for the support pillars. The pillars will hold up planned additional lanes of Highway 108 as they pass over Sanguinetti Road in Sonora. The widening of the highway is part of the new Caltrans East Sonora Expressway project. Concrete will be poured around the steel framework to form the support pillars.
Minor traffic delays can be expected in the area as construction work progresses this summer.
