Driver Pinned In Big Rig Roll-over
A truck driver was pinned in the cab of his big rig when his wood chip truck overturned just off Highway 120 at the entrance to the Hatler Industrial Park in the Chinese Camp area around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Rescuing 31 year old truck driver Jake Oosterman of Oakdale was a difficult job for firefighters.
Nearly a dozen fire units from around the county responded to the accident. Chinese Camp Fire department Lieutenant Robert Anzar explains as they tried cutting the cab off the Kenworth big rig, the truck kept rolling over, putting more pressure on the drivers legs, which were pinned between the steering wheel and seat. Oosterman was freed nearly an hour and a half later.
Oosterman refused to be transported by Medi-Flight air ambulance. He was taken to Sonora Community Hospital for treatment. The highway patrol is investigating the crash.
