Drowning At Hogan Reservoir

Valley Springs, CA– Calaveras County authorities say a man who was swimming with his family Monday afternoon, drowned at Hogan Reservoir.
The 26-year-old Stockton resident was swimming with over 100 swimmers in the Wrinkle Cove area, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses say the man was a weak swimmer and was not wearing his life jacket. He was reportedly under the water for about 5-15 minutes before being pulled out.
At that time the man was suffering a weak heartbeat. He was transported to Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
