Sonora, CA — A mechanical malfunction is to blame for starting a 100 acre vegetation fire on Highway 108 Wednesday afternoon.
CDF and Tuolumne County fire officials say the blaze started just before 3:00pm on the south side of the highway near Tulloch Road.
Reports indicate the fire was started when a truck towing a trailer had a mechanical malfunction, causing debris to hit the grass and ignite the fire.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire and no structures were damaged or destroyed.
