Firefighters have contained a brush fire in Jamestown on Peppermint Creek Road.

Fire crews had that fire contained by 6:45pm Friday… and it only burned a couple of acres.

And firefighters are on the scene of a second brush fire on Highway 108 at South Shore Tulloch Road.

150 acres have burned so far, with a reported moderate rate of spread.

Firefighters are also reporting having to deal with some high tension power lines in the area.

At least 8 air tankers and 3 helicopters are on the scene, with numerous ground crews.
