Last night´s Open House at the Sonora Opera Hall combined the old with the new.
Visitors could see historic photo displays of old-time Sonora, and the brand new kitchen and restroom facilities.
“We´re showing off the kitchen and all the stainless steel, the fridge and the warming oven. And we´re also selling the bricks out front, too. This will be the last time for the brick sales,” said Sheila Wilkinson, the Special Programs Coordinator for the city of Sonora.
She says the money raised by the sales of the commemmorative bricks doesn´t go far.
“It goes back into the Opera Hall restoration, so we´ll be replacing our drapes. It goes toward fixing stuff like that inside the hall.”
The Open House was yesterday, at the Opera Hall in downtown Sonora.
