Jamestown, CA—CAL FIRE reports that as of this afternoon, the Owl Fire that ignited along Highway 108 in the Jamestown area of Tuolumne County is contained.
The final acreage of the blaze is 120 acres. The flames broke out near Green Springs Road on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, just after 10 a.m. As we reported here, the fire started as two separate vegetation fires that merged into one. That same day, air and ground resources were able to stop the forward spread around 12:40 p.m. and, around 4:30 p.m., gained 50 percent containment. The following day, that number jumped to 65 percent.
No structures were threatened, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
