Calaveras Community Foundation Gives Caregivers A Break

The foundation has awarded a grant for respite care services and updates on 2024 grants.

Calaveras County, CA – The Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) has awarded respite care services with a grant that will give caregivers of loved ones a break and also updates how many grants have been given this year.

The foundation has awarded the non-profit Hospice of Amador and Calaveras a $1,500 grant to support respite care services. It provides temporary relief for caregivers of patients with serious illnesses, allowing caregivers some time off from their caregiving responsibilities to attend to their own needs. Hospice provides these services in both homes and care facilities.

“We are grateful to the Calaveras Community Foundation for their generous support,” said Samantha Lukow, Executive Director of Hospice of Amador and Calaveras. “Respite care is a vital service that allows caregivers to maintain their own well-being while ensuring that their loved ones receive the best possible care.”

The organization’s services include hospice care, palliative care, and grief counseling. For more information about the group, click here or call (209) 223-5500 with any questions.

Additionally, CCF has awarded twenty-nine organizations, including non-profit organizations, schools, and government agencies, that service the county with grants this year, totaling approximately $156,000.
