Sonora, CA — 25 year old Daniel A.M. Tindle of Tuolumne City has been identified by the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Departmant as the individual who fell into the Clarks Fork River at the falls, at the second bridge, Saturday afternoon at 2:45. He never surfaced.
The Sheriff´s Department called off the search at 3PM Sunday. Forest Service workers and search personnel will continue to monitor the water levels in the river.
Saturday and Sunday, searchers were unable to place rescuers in the water due to the strength of the currents and the high water level. They are hoping to continue recovery efforts within the next week when levels are expected to drop.
